Founder’s Story – A Legacy of Integrity, Vision, and Partnership

The story of Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin begins with humble origins and an unwavering belief in the power of hard work. As a young university student, he balanced his studies with simple jobs to support his education and daily needs. These early challenges shaped a character built on resilience, discipline, and an exceptional commitment to self-reliance. After graduating in 1977, Dr. Nasereddin embarked on a professional journey that took him from accounting, to supervising agricultural operations, to managing sales and industrial facilities. Each step strengthened his leadership and deepened his understanding of how businesses grow—one responsible decision at a time. His reputation for honesty and operational excellence eventually led him to senior management roles within a public joint-stock company.

But the turning point came in 1984, when he founded YAN—a name rooted in his family’s initials and symbolizing continuity across generations. What began as a small entrepreneurial venture grew steadily into a respected trading and distribution company. Driven by Dr. Nasereddin’s belief in good governance, ethical business practices, and long-term relationships, the company expanded into pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, consumer products, and later, multiple distribution divisions. For Dr. Nasereddin, business was never only about commerce. It was about nation-building—about investing in education, scientific research, and the development of people. His conviction that progress begins with knowledge created a foundation of trust, transparency, and purpose that still defines the company today.
